Welcome !

This is the development web site for the DAISY Lion project. It contains a bug tracker, roadmap, source code, etc.

What is the DAISY Lion ?

The DAISY Lion is a web-based system to facilitate localization data entry and maintenance for DAISY tools. It provides scripts to manage translated material and a web interface for entering translations. It began as part of the  AMIS DAISY player software project.

The DAISY Lion is free of charge and released under an open source license ( LGPL).

This project is maintained by  Marisa DeMeglio.

What is DAISY?

DAISY (Digital Accessible Information SYstem) is an open standard for accessible electronic multimedia.

The  DAISY Consortium is a worldwide body of like-minded organizations collaborating to develop the standards and to implement strategies for the production, exchange and use of next-generation Digital Talking Books (DTB) aimed at people who are blind, visually-impaired, or otherwise print-disabled (e.g. dyslexic).

The DAISY Consortium is a non-profit organization.

Current Status

The DAISY Lion is live and can be used for AMIS. Translators are requested to make updates for AMIS 3.1.

Read our instructions for translators.
